Some of General Washington’s accredations to God for the establishment of the United States and our victory over Great Brittain:
1776: Let us therefore rely upon the goodness of the Cause, and the aid of the supreme Being, in whose hands Victory is.
1783: ... I hope we shall not forget that, to divine Providence is to be ascribed the Glory and the Praise.
1791: We must, however, place a confidence in that Providence who rules great events, trusting that out of confusion he will produce order, and, notwithstanding the dark clouds, which may threaten at present, that right will ultimately be established.
And, the words of the apostle Paul, for us in our day and time: Galatians 3:3 Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?
