More on Bless the Lord, Oh My Soul:

Psalm 103: 1-3a:
Bless the Lord, my soul, and all that is within me; bless His holy name.
Blessing the Lord may be the right thing to do, the expected thing to do, the rational thing to do- but we still have to CHOOSE to do so.  If we are to bring our rebellious, self-centered nature under control, we must choose, at times, to bless the Lord though our mind and emotions resist so doing.  As we bless Him, our souls are lifted up into His presence, the Holy Spirit fills our lives, and we are strengthened in the spirit.
